RIMS the brainchild of Prof. Sourya Patnaik was established in the year 1984. It has taken great strides since its inception, becoming one of the premier B-schools of the country. A governing body consisting of; distinguished industrialists, businesspersons, academicians and professionals, governs it. The institute is situated in a scenic and serene campus that provides a conducive environment for personal and intellectual growth.
RIMS, is affiliated to Biju Pattnaik University of Technology, Orissa, Rourkela, and Sambalpur University, Orissa, for different programs. It has NAAC Accreditation and ISO 9001-2000 certification from TUV Germany. RIMS offers courses like Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master in Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor in Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC).
